I lost both my parents when I was 8 years old. One night soon after the death of my parents, the tiny grass-thatched house I lived in with my older sister burned down in a deliberately set fire.

My sister and I lost everything, including the only remaining photos and keepsakes of our parents. We then lived on the streets for five months until Alex found us sitting under a jackfruit tree one evening.

Alex took us in so we could feel the joy of being loved and cared for. I dream of becoming a teacher when I am older. I am a close friend to the other children around me.
