Meet Huzairu
I came under the care of Alex shortly after the opening of Kabagambe Childcare Foundation in April 2016. My father had died, and I had run away from my father’s relatives and was surviving on the streets. Alex found me at the World Street Children's Days in Uganda, which is where you give to the street children if you have anything extra to give.
Alex took me in that day to live at the orphanage. A few weeks after I arrived, Alex went in search of my relatives and found my mother who was working hard to look after my two half-siblings. I have kept in regular contact with my mother and do visit her occasionally.
I settled in well at the orphanage and completed high school. I have never gotten into any trouble, and I enjoy playing football and swimming. I am now enrolled in a two-year mechanical engineering course and hope to be able to care for my mother and siblings when I finish college.
