I lost both my parents to AIDs at a young age. The first time I met Alex was when I was only 2 years old, and he was going around providing extra help to families in need. By the time Alex met me, my health was very poor. I was extremely thin and could not stand or sit on my own because I was so ill.

My grandmother asked if Alex could take me to live at the orphanage because she didn't know what was wrong with me medically and didn’t have the money to take me to the doctor. Alex agreed; however, he first took me directly to the hospital to be checked out. I was tested for HIV and found to be positive.

I was hospitalized for seven months before I was able to go home to the orphanage. They were able to start me on daily antiviral medication, and I have gained my appetite back. I am now so happy and love playing with the other children.
