I lost both my parents in a landslide at the Kireka mining grounds where my parents worked as miners. Many children around me were also orphaned from this natural disaster.

People from all over the country united to help those of us affected, and Alex was among those who responded. He found me dirty and full of flies, only 2 years old at that time. He brought me home with him to live at the orphanage.

I am now a strong, confident girl and love to sing, dance, and recite poems in our local language of Luganda. I dream of going to school and becoming a doctor when I grow up.
